Hypothetically speaking

Wonder what would happen if this were happening in the U.S. - would the NYT worry itself over "privacy concerns"?

The nanny-staters would be overjoyed! After all, it is all "for the children."

Wonder what will happen to all of those records after the kids reach the age of majority. No sense in getting rid of all that perfectly good data, right? If it can be justified for kids, it can be justified for the elderly, the disabled, and just about everybody else.
