Perhaps combining competitors from the Special Olympics as well as the standard Winter Olympics might make it more interesting. Expanding on the theme of the video you have linked here, a genuine competition between two nations can be created. The shooter, who would be blind, represents one country, while the skier (not blind) would represent the other. For every hit the blind shooter gets, his country tallies up points. Meanwhile, the skier accumulates points by advancing through the course without being blasted by gunfire. Of course, cameramen, observers and commentators would be forced to watch the whole thing on closed circuit television off-site, but imagine the suspense. The thrill of the unpredictable could make it a winner.
