Thank you for visiting Citizen-Journal.net (the “Site”).  We take your personal privacy seriously and treat your personal information with the confidentiality and safety it deserves, and we are committed to maintaining the privacy of our users' personal information.  We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. What information is collected and how it's used

We don't collect your personal information without your knowledge.  We may collect your name, address and e-mail address, but only if you voluntarily submit this information to us.  We do not, however, knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of thirteen.

We automatically collect IP addresses and Web site usage information from you when you visit our Web site.  Each time the Site is accessed, the visitor's domain name/IP address is collected, as is the visitor's browser/platform type.  Also, when you visit the Site we may use cookie technology. A “cookie” is a string of information that is sent by a website and stored on your hard drive or temporarily in your computer's memory. Advertisers on the Site may also pass cookies to your computer.

What We Do with Your Information

Our Users -- When you register to become a Citizen-Journal User, we will collect your name, e-mail address, and city and state or country of residence.  As noted on the Registration Form, when you register with the Site we ask you to provide certain personal information, but other users will not have access to this information unless you elect to provide it to them. You can modify your account information at any time by clicking the “Edit Profile” button after logging in.  

Contributions - If you submit an article for our consideration and we select it for publication, we may include the name, city and state or country that you provide to us when the article is published.

Except as specifically set forth in this Privacy Policy, we do not share your personally identifiable information outside of the Site unless you "opt in" to having your personally identifiable information shared with a company that is not affiliated with us. We may combine the information that we collect from you on this Web site with information that you provide to us in connection with your use of our other products, services and Web sites.  On occasion, we may disclose and use personally-identifiable information to resolve disputes, identify and resolve technical issues, enforce our Terms of Use (for example, when necessary to protect our or a third party's intellectual property or proprietary rights) or to alert you to changes in our policies or agreements that may affect your use of our Web site.

Security

The security of any personal information you submit to us is very important to us because we know it is important to you. Any information we gather about you will be stored in limited-access servers, and we will adhere to strict safeguards that will protect the security of these servers and your personally identifiable information.

In order to participate in Citizen-Journal discussion groups, you must register as a Citizen User. Registration is free. None of your personal information will be available to other users, but you can of course elect to make personal information available to other users by sending or posting it.  There are some exceptions, which are detailed in our Privacy Policy.
