Run! Run! Scare Tactics

It's always a laugh to hear Democrats accuse Republicans of "scare tactics" - of late, in the Social Security debate. But this tidbit from MoveOn's campaign against President Bush's judicial nominees is more ridiculous than usual:
As soon as this week, radical Republicans in the Senate are planning to pull the trigger on their scheme to break the rules of the Senate, seize absolute power over judicial appointments, and stack the courts with extreme judges. Overnight, some of our most treasured rights, like the 40-hour work week, basic environmental protections, and the right to privacy, could be in danger. We must act. MORE
It's hard even to respond to the idea that a 40-hour work week is one of our "most treasured rights" (I'd better find a lawyer and start suing - 40 hours? a right?) but the tone here - "conservatives hate people" - is striking.
More from MoveOn (h/t: Littlegreenfootballs.com). This from Al Gore, who came frighteningly close to becoming our President:
“What makes it so dangerous for our country is their willingness to do serious damage to our American democracy in order to satisfy their lust for one-party domination of all three branches of government,” Gore said of the GOP in a speech. “They seek nothing less than absolute power.” ...
“This aggressive new strain of right-wing religious zealotry is actually a throwback to the intolerance that led to the creation of America in the first place."
Run away! Run away! The right-win religious zealots are coming to get you!
