Condi The Competent....Kerry The Kreep

An experienced, competent and brilliant public servant is now the "face of the United States" to the rest of the world. But to the Barbara Boxer's and John Kerry's and the rest of the Democrats who hate her guts -- black woman/Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice represents a traitor to her race and "one that got away" from their patronizing view of minorities in this Nation. The Democrats and the Left just cannot fathom the concept of a minority or woman who is not in need of a government handout or other help (meaning their help) in order to achieve "equality" to whites.

All they know is that more and more minorities and women are jumping ship and joining arms with the GOP. It makes them crazy. Insane. Because to the entrenched and sick mind of the Democratic Party, it is still 1965 and Martin Luther King is still alive, marching in Selma. It is 1965 and the race wars have only just begun -- The Republicans all are racists and the LBJ led Democrats are the "great white savior" to all minorities and women.

Ah the good old days! Right Ms Boxer and Mr. Kerry? Well, too bad, they are over. It is now the Democrats with their racist policies they call "affirmative action" who refuse to see individuals as something more then just the color of thei skin.

And it is the Republicans who are now carrying the torch for Martin Luther King's dream, by ignoring color and focusing on the content of one's character. And Condoleeza Rice was chosen to be Secretary of State by Republican President George W. Bush because she had the right stuff, the right character for the job. By voting against her, Boxer and Kerry showed once again why both of them are small people who have no character at all. Three Cheers to Condi Rice in her new job and God Bless President George W. Bush and the United States of America.

Chris, you're stumbling over your own feet. Your entire argument on Rice's behalf was made on the basis of her being black and female, not on the basis of competence. You're doing the very race-baiting you say you hate. If someone else had made the miscalculations Rice made, inside our outside government, you'd be yelling for their head. But you're giving Rice a break based on an obvious double standard. Why don't you tackle a subject more your speed? I hear Spongebob Squarepants is in the crosshairs now. Go for it, big guy.

Sorry Charlie..I am not the bigot...I am against "affirmative Action" and for example the National Organization of Women who are effervescent in their praise of Boxer and Kerry, do not even acknowledge ms. Rice's incredible achievement for the "sisterhood".

Couple that with the demeaning race and gender based voting record of both Boxer and Kerry and my conclusion is not a bigoted one...but based on the reality of who the Left in this nation actually are ...a bunch of elitist racists and race baiters who cannot separate the individual from theior skin color.

Like most of your arguments, Chris, that's easy to say and absent of evidence. The evidence in support of rejecting Rice for State is right there. Her record, regardless of gender or color, is one of incompetence. Kerry and Boxer declined to vote for her on that basis. If your support for her is based on gender and color (and you haven't given any other reasons) then Rice herself would decline your vote. She would certainly want to be evaluated by the strictest standards. You're giving her a break because you think it makes you a good guy. In other words, you're a liberal.

The bigot here is you. This isn't one of your little "humor" columns. You can't get away with just being glib.

Publicus:

if you really don't believe that Kerry and Boxer did the racial and gender smackdown on Condi to put her in her place then you really haven't been paying attention to what the Dems and especially the Leftists in the party - like Boxer and Kerry are really about.

It's funny at first watching Chris attempt to reason, but after a few minutes you feel like you're watching a clumsy child trying to roller skate. The gist of this little contribution is that Condi Rice deserves some sort of break because she's black, and that it's a feather in the cap of the GOP to hire a black woman even if she's demonstrated incompetence and a lack of integrity. Is she being judged "by the content of her character" when she did do poorly as NSA, and was part of the spectacular "miscalculation" (as VP Cheney called it) that had led is into a military quagmire in Iraq? No...but in an effort to bend over backwards and grant Ms. Rice the favor of his approval, Chris is saying just that. Leaders at any level need to be examined on the basis of performance, not color. Ms. Rice would certainly say so herself. Calling her critics "racist" for questioning her record is racism itself...if Ms. Rice is permitted "the soft bigotry of low expectations," to use a phrase Bush has quoted, then she's getting a free ride based on race...in other words, she's getting the benefits of the "affirmative action" thinking Chris has criticized in his other pithy contributions here.

Yes, perhaps I'm being unfair because Chris shows the ability to argue with himself more effectively than he argues with anyone else, but that isn't the point. The point is, if we as conservatives permit mediocrity in the ranks on the basis of race, we're racists. The bald fact is, Rice did poorly as NSA and was part of a colossal mistake. She said there were WMD. There were not. She agreed that there would be no insurgency. There's a huge one. She thought the Iraqis would be strewing flowers in the streets. If they do, the bouquets hide bombs. She doesn't deserve to be Secretary of State on merit, and if Chris thinks she deserves it because of race, he's just another bigot.
